Rural Rise Draft 3

About

The Rural Rise Program is a promise of the Kalgidhar Society under the ETS initiative to provide education and create opportunities for rural students.

India has the world’s largest child and adolescent population, with over 444 million children*; less than half of the population between 6 and 14 years of age go to school.

In this Rural Rise Program, we provide education in 129 Akal Academies to open the doors to a bright future for rural children who lack facilities and opportunities.

Purpose of the Program

This program aims to draw support for children of impoverished families who are deprived of education in rural areas and change the scenario of Rural India through world-class education, a blend of modern scientific and spiritual education.

Program Background

The man behind this initiative is Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji. He dreamed of giving free/subsidized education yearly to at least 20,000 needy, underprivileged kids.

Guiding Principles

Bring transformation with value-based – a blend of knowledge and spiritual values as they can potentially have a faster and more significant impact on transforming villages and local communities if backed by imaginative and bold leadership from outside.

Process

Under this program, the Principal of the nearby Akal Academy identifies the needy kids deprived of education due to financial constraints; then, our authentication team checks for validation of these cases through available documents and family site surveys before they get enlisted to seek sponsorship.

Fund Allocation

The sponsorship amount in this program is an averaged amount that also includes 5% of the Admin Charges and Inflation amount calculated by considering the total concession given to the students.

Under this program, some students are fully sponsored, and some are partially supported.
